Nails for The Week: Blue Skies

Hello, hello, everyone!!

It has been quite some time since I published a Blog post on nails, so I thought I'd start this regularly again.

When you lead a busy lifestyle, sometimes the best colours are the simplest and most convenient. Especially when you paint your own nails like I do!

This week I'm showcasing a gorgeous blue. Check out Blue Skies!

This nail polish applies easily and dries pretty fast. It's sold at all Elianto outlets. I bought this during a recent sale for only RM 6.00 (14 ml)!! I must admit that it was such a good steal!

I'd love to have a collection of O.P.I nail polishes, but each bottle costs about RM 60.00. That's pricey for just one bottle. 

So, ladies, splash your favourite nail polish on for instant, bright nails! With two coats of this gorgeous blue, I did mine in about 30 minutes in total. ;)

Nails for The Week: Biiji Biiji Boo

Hello, hello, everyone!!

It's been a while since I've published a Blog post, so I thought I'd do one on nails.

I bought some tiny, colourful beads from a nail stall somewhere in KL sometime back, and decided to put them to use. 

Along with the beads, I used my newly purchased Revlon Spiderman Nail Polishes and got to work!

Check out Biiji Biiji Boo! Yep, that's what I'm calling it. ;)

The Revlon nail polishes are easy to apply and dry pretty fast. They were being sold at Guardian Pharmacy for about RM 18.00 each, and it was during some special sale day. There were only 2 bottles left, and these were the ones I bought. Clearly, they're selling FAST!

The beads were a little tricky to apply because they're SO small! I had to sprinkle them over my damp-coloured nails carefully, so that they wouldn't fall and bounce all over the place!

Try this look to instantly glam your nails! :)

I just got back from an exhausting evening of Christmas shopping and I'm knackered. My partner and I have now completed ALL our shopping for the season! YAYY!! I've put away the presents and am working on my blog post for you now, so I'm setting aside wrapping the presents for another evening.  

Christmas is so close I can feel it! It's one of the best times of the year for me when I'm surrounded by family, loved ones, and friends. I'm feeling very blessed and lucky. Omigosh.. Is it me or does that sound like a selection from the Facebook "Say what you are doing" list of options when we update our status?? Haha! I hope that you are blessed with loved ones and friends this season too. :) xx

On a slightly unrelated note, does anyone know of a kick-ass recipe for eggnog? If you do, please share!

If you celebrate Christmas, you'd know the thrill and excitement when December approaches every year! 

It's when we take out our Christmas trees and decorations. Then, there's making a list of who to buy presents for, planning where to get them from, and doing some serious (frantic) shopping. It's also when we listen to a LOT of Christmas carols. All in all, it's a wonderful time for some of us! Aaahhh, I'm feeling all Christmassy already. I love it and can't wait!

It's a simple, bright, and stunning colour. I decided not to do any nail art or design because some of you may be looking for something simple to last at least several days post Halloween. 

I hope you like it! I'd highly recommend this gorgeous colour because it's apt for both Halloween AND Deepavali. :)

Nails for The Week: Halloween Hell(ohs)

Hey everyone!

Guess what time it is...?? You know it! It's Halloween time! Booyah! :D

Here's an idea for your nails - it's simple and involves only two colours!

If you look closely at my index finger, you'll see a swollen finger and the tip of a plaster. I had a little accident in the kitchen early yesterday morning while preparing breakfast. The cut's deep and, needless to say, I have a throbbing and bloody finger. *sigh*

Note To Self: do not slice anything with a blunt knife or you could end up slicing your skin like I did. Ouchie! :(

Nails for The Week: Mimes' Traffic Lights

Hey everyone!

This is a look that I tried out on my own for the first time. I didn't mirror an existing image, so if you've seen it before, it's purely coincidental. 

I've never been a particularly artistic person. Not as a kid. Not even as an adult. So to me, this is a masterpiece! Yay, me!

I call this look "Mimes' Traffic Lights". 

Okay, so mimes are not necessarily colour blind, but they are usually dressed in black and white. I didn't want to call the look "Black and White". Zzzzzzzz... What kind of name is that? That would be just plain boring! :p

How To Clean Messy Edges When Doing Manicures

Hey everyone!

This is my chosen look for the week. Yes, it's a little messy around the edges. My manicures are very real - we all can't do perfect manicures all the time now, can we? ;)

After I took the photo, I cleaned the edges using a pointed-tip cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover. Voila! Problem solved! :D

No more messy edges!

DIY Manicure: Lava Lust Nails

Hey everyone!

I was doing my nails and experimenting with different colours when I came up with this funky look. I call it Lava Lust Nails. 

Achieving this look is very easy. Just follow these steps:

01. Cut and file your nails like you would with a typical manicure. Then, apply a base coat.

     

*Note: Applying a base coat is important because it prevent your nails from turning

          yellow.

02. Apply nail colour to your nails - any colour you want. Bright, bold colours work well

     with this look.

     (I used aqua blue and coral on my nails.)

03. Apply a crackle nail colour in black.

     (I used the crackle nail colour in black from Elianto. 

      It applies very well and dries extremely FAST. I love it!)

04. Apply a clear nail colour with glitter.

05. Apply a top coat. And you're done!

I love this look - it's funky and looks like a professional manicure! I call the two colours Aqua Lava Lust and Velvet Lava Lust. Have a go! :)
